    • Cadillac abandoning alphanumeric naming scheme and going back to classic names starting in 2022

Cadillac, please make up your mind already. We all know classic Cadillac names like Eldorado and DeVille. Something in the 2000's happened and Cadillac abandoned their classic naming scheme for a three letter based and now alphanumeric based scheme.

You saw the CTS, STS, and ATS which recently gave way to the CT4, CT5, and CT6. What happened? BMW, Audi, and Mercedes are what happened.

Cadillac tried to copy the German brands and it didn't work. Cadillac just could not settle on their own identity.

They are now trying to go back and it makes you wonder who is making decisions over there. How is Cadillac supposed to succeed when nobody can even recall what cars they are making as the names change every other year?

The only model we can really count on as serving any sort of foundation is the Escalade. No wonder it is the vehicle most people think of when they hear Cadillac.
